hi, im trying to format a dell dimension 8400 and store a verbs edition of XP but it won't consent to me!!!HELP!!!

What do you mean it won't consent to you. you mean to right to be heard that you don't know how. Well let me transmit you. first go to Dells website and download the drivers for your model computer because I assure you XP doesn't enjoy them. Then go into setup or bios and generate sure your boot sequence has the compact disc ROM as the first boot. Windows XP will format your hard drive for you when you put the disk surrounded by. You have to delete the separator of the old operating system and follow the instructions. I hope your not putting within home edition, if so its a insult to the 8400.
put in your xp disk, press the F8 switch and select "boot to CD rom" afterwards follow the instructions - read the windows instructions scarcely.
