I am trying to append a second DVD ROM drive to my computer, but I'm having trouble removing the "block" to the unequivocal slot on my computer. There is the plastic part on the outside, but also a metal block on the inside- I can't remove any! I was competent to take the drive out of the prehistoric machine and will know how to procure it into and hook it up to the new one, so I don't own any problems with that. I am technically new at working near hardware, so somewhat "lay" terms would be most willing to help in responses. Also, I'm assuming that I can of late take the DVD ROM drive from my antiquated system and put it into my new one. They are like peas in a pod brand and there are extra power supply's and cable (ribbons, whatever).
Thanks!
How can I add on a second DVD ROM drive to my computer?
wel you have to help yourself to the covor off for starters..freshly buy an external one
The plastic part at the front should prise out they usually own lugs on each side. And the metal section should knock out.
If you are attatching the second Cd rom to the same ribbon as the one to be exact in check the jersey settings.
Set your best drive to master & the other to slave.
Or if it's going with your strong drive, set the cd rom to slave.
The jumpers are the little plugs that budge across the prong sets on the back of the drives,
