HELP..I a moment ago changed my son's cd burner to a tentative dvd/cd burner,adjectives I?
The latest drive needs to enjoy a jumper setting changed from master to slave and consequently all should be fine. Hope this help and Happy New year
as long as the dvd burner gets picked up within the bios and windows xp, it will work.
Two sturdy drives and CD drives normally share the same ribbon cable (the huge cable you attached to the back of the drive). In lay down for the computer to separate the two devices, one of them has to be set as the "master" device and the other as the "slave". This is done by moving a small pullover on the drive, near where on earth the cables attach.
If you look on the drive, you will usually find a chart showing you the jersey settings for master, slave, and cable select. You need to look at the resourceful drive and see how it is set (master, slave, or cable select) and the set the new drive to be indistinguishable. As the setting for master and slave varies next to each brand of drives, you can not merely match the jersey on the new one to be indistinguishable as the old. You enjoy to determine what the setting means set the hot one to the same goal (master or slave)
check if the power and data cable are properly connected.
