Help.. my cd burner wont 'burn. it plays cd's and dvd's.but wont burn blank ones.use medium player 11 and nero

tried several brands of discs. none work. they're recognised contained by the drive.but wont burn.

i think the problem is how to use it...try to copy database to blank cd then (write these files to the cd))) lacking any programs like nero or others.best wishes

Right, contained by Nero does the little Burn button appear? Also if you've added the burner AFTER installing nero you will need to re-install it.



How do they founder? Do you get a letdown message? Is it definitely a compact disc burner for sure? Has it ever worked?

It sounds as though your drive may be goosed, if you know someone with a USB compact disc writer borrow it and try that on your system. If it works that confirms you are using the software properly. If not then uninstall Nero and reinstall it and try again. Most problems can be solved by a process of obliteration. You did not say how ripened your drive is, they do not last fro ever. You can gain a DVD /CD dual layer replacement rather cheaply now and they are not difficult to fit. Just label sure that the jumpers on the unsullied drive are set to the same as the out-of-date one.
